Winton hosts outback’s first big COVID-era festival | Queensland Country Life

The joy shown by musicians finally able to do what they love best – perform in front of a live audience – was only matched at Winton’s 2021 Way out West festival by the excited vibe of a crowd freed from many of the restrictions of the last 12 months.

As Beccy Cole said, “I haven’t done this out in the beautiful sunshine for more than a year – I feel like crying”.

After being cancelled last year, thousands of people snapped up tickets to once again boogie in the bush, and check out Winton’s opal and dinosaur attractions as well, and enjoy the country hospitality.
